WHo says complaining does no good?

Just read on the JMRI Yahoo group that MRC has reversed their stance and is working with the JMRI tesm to get auppport for MRC DCC systems in JMRI. Expected to be available shortly, in time for the NMRA Convention/National Train Show

This is posted on the MRC Yahoo group as well. My friend should be happy, he runs MRC.  Joe

That's definitely a step in the right direction for MRC.  Hopefully it signals the end of their "holier than thou" DCC attitude.

I'm guessing they found out it was going to be a lot more trouble than they thought to write decent software for their interface.  Although the website says "We will periodically upload the latest releases, so keep checking our site for updates",they've been stuck on Version 1.1 for several years now.

Was it the complaining or the lack of revenue that convinced MRC?  Because I gotta tell you, MRC has been tone deaf to consumer complaints over their DCC products for many years.

Sounds a lot like Sony Beta vs. VHS.  Beta users swore better resolution but it lost out and Sony converted to VHS but not before the bulk of the VHS profit was taken and the market was saturated with lower cost VHS solutions.  Maybe MRC will survive their earlier staunch stance and the bad after taste of their early mistake will go away.  We will see, I suppose.
