Programming a Broadway Blueline Decoder
Posted by rockymidlandrr on Thursday, January 30, 2014 4:22 PM

Hi all,

I have a Broadway limited Blueline engine in which I have installed a decoder in.  Both are set to the same address- 5032, and all the lights and sounds work perfectly.  The problem is when the engine moves in either forward or reverse, and the throttle goes past the number 28 speed step the engine sound no longer revs because it is already in full throttle.

Essentially, the digitrax is on 128 speed steps, the decoder is using 128 speed steps, but the blueline engine is stuck on 28 and I can't get it to convert over to 128.  How do I do this using a digitrax system and DT400 throttle?

Thanks!!!!

Since no one else has chimed in with some advice, I suggest that you go to the Broadway Limited web site and see if they have a BlueLine decoder technical reference manual that lists all the supported CVs, and see if there is a way to change it to recognize 128 speed steps.

Since changing from 28 to 128 is purely software driven within your DCC system, this may be a BlueLine decoder limitation.

Exactly. There is no difference in decoder setting for 28 or 128 speed steps. However, the probably is a CV to adjust number of speed steps per notch on the prime mover sound.
