Bachman Amtrak Acela decoder question
Posted by dpk22 on Friday, February 15, 2008 10:06 PM

Does anyone know what decoder to use on the Acela? I believe it is a eight pin connection plug in but I do not know who makes this decoder. I remember seeing a tutorial, pictural, of the installation. I am not looking for sound just DCC.

Thanks in advance for your help and effort.

Bachmann makes one, as do about 6 or 7 other companies.  Which one is best will get you as many different answers as there are decoders.

Any vendor who sells decoders can tell you which ones will fit your particular engine.

I have decoders made by Bachmann, Digitrax, Lens, SoundTraxx Tsunami, and TCS.  They all work fine.  Some have more features than others.
