How often were tank cars required to be pressure tested under the 1961 rules? I get the impression that non-pressurized tanks did not require periodic testing, but pressurized cars had to be done at five-year intervals.

Also from reading the reweigh rules in the July '61 ORER, it appears that tank cars, mechanical reefers, and poultry cars were not subject to periodic reweighing. Am I getting that right?

The end game here is that I want to adjust the stencilling on my rolling stock to be appropriate for 1961 operations. I think I've got the main categories down, just wondering about tanks.

Thanks,
Kurt Laughlin
