many thanks for this fast answer! I asked , because I wasn't shure if blue/yellow painted locos will be ok for the 1950s/1960s. but after your answer I think they are!

Hello Daniel,

The answer to your question depends on which locomotives you're talking about. The Santa Fe used blue and yellow for its very first freight diesels, the FTs of 1941. These colors were continued with some variations on F3s, F7s, and F9s. The first road swichers to be painted blue and yellow were the SD24s of 1959 (actually the second delivery of this type), and blue and yellow became the standard colors for all freight and switching power after that.

Hello everybody there! I'm new here and I'm from germany.
I've got a question, hoping anybody here can help me/give me an answer....
I'm starting to build a little HO scale layout (about 4,00m x 1,20m) with Santa Fe trains and a smaller logging Line. The layout should play in the 1950s up to 1960s. Now my question, when did the Santa Fe began to paint there locos in blue and yellow ?
