Chicago, Missouri, & Western
Posted by Heartattack 19 on Thursday, August 17, 2006 12:38 PM

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster!

I became interested in the Chicago, Missouri, and Western in grade school reading the Trains Magazine 3 part series and now acquired the Microscale decals for the railroad.  I have the article from Model Railroader about painting and detailing the Athearn GP-38.  I have the GP 38 and the old Atlas GP-40 for this project, i will do the GP-38 in the Maroon Scheme and the GP-40 in the black scheme, since there are enough heralds on the sheet.  It may seem obvious, but i am wondering if the Gold Trim herald goes with the Maroon Scheme and the Yellow trimmed herald goes with the Black Scheme.  I have looked at a ton of pictures, but can not figure it out! Thank you for your help in advance!

I'm reviewing my CMNW slides for the herald colors.  Here's what I've got:

GP38 2036, GP40 3025 - maroon paint, gold-on-red herald

GP38 2032, 2037 & 2039, GP40 3013 & 3019 - black paint, yellow-on-red herald
