Boston and Maine put plows on some of their locomotives in the fall and removed them in the spring.</p> <p>Also I if memory serves D&RGW narrow guage locomotives have full time plow pilots. </p> <p>There are various photos available via google of different steam locomotive plow pilots.</p> <p> </p>
