50' rail box car by athern needs paint on the doors...or does it?
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 29, 2005 9:07 PM
I bought an Athern railbox box car that is the 50' foot variety. It is yellow but the doors came black. What color should they be? The roof is silver for the metallic aluminum look. Maybe the doors also. I know I have seen these bad boys around near where I live but for the life of me I just can't remember what color the doors were! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I seriously doubt the doors should be black. It looks hoaky like that. What have you guys and gals done? Any pics please post! thanks rail gurus.

the doors are black. however-----------you can put a different colored door on the kit to show that door has been replaced sometime in the past but not painted, or leave off a door that fell off in transit or was damaged.
