Most noteable are the angled windows on the bay window. What model is it and has anyone modeled one?

That's a C-27A caboose. Built in 1980 by Fruit Growers Express. There were 94 cars built in this class, the last group to be purchased by B&O/C&O.

B&O numbered 904000-904093 and C&O numbers 904094 to 904159. Later they were transfered to CSXT.

The angled screen (stone-guard) tracks were supposed to serve two purposes. One to keep road dirt and grit from accumulating in the track and two, to help keep the screens from vibrating open if they weren't latched.

Overland made one in brass some years ago.

I can't repeat what we called those things since this is a family forum. You see we C&O men had our own mighty fine cabooses and didn't want nor need those stinking B&O designed cabooses.

No creative safety slogan?  I have seen slogans on Chessie cabooses.  Unless it was added by the shop crews later on.

Only 23 Chessie cabooses had those safety slogans.

One of my favorites on the Chessie was a safety poster that read "Short cuts and unsafe acts leads to this: A picture of a casket.

Yes,IRRC Bev-Bel made all 23 safety cabooses by using Athearn bay window and wide/extended vision cabooses.

I guess I will have to start hunting for those.  I had previously found some P2k (WM models) as well one or two EV and bay window safety cabs.
