CF7s

I have heard from some people that the Southern Pacific railroad might have owned some CF7s, and I wanted to know if this is correct or not.

I could be very wrong but I don't believe they did. Several wound up in the secondary market but I do not recall any in SP markings. I could talk myself into a Kalmbach poster showing them all many years ago. It would certainly be an oddity on SP.

I sort of doubt it. The CF7 was an in-house conversion program by the Santa Fe. They converted F7A units into CF7's. Later, these were sold off to short lines or scrapped. The SP had their own conversion programs through the years like GRIP and the various ..E programs for old GP's.
