Yours truly haunts www.railpictures.net almost daily, as it's such a Great Source of visual inspiration for all sorts of layout modeling ideas! The reason this particular photo caught my eye, is the huge DENT in lower web of rusty steel I-beam, obviously caused by an over-height vehicle or load attempting to drive through underpass [ and the bump in road surface didn't help, either! ]. To me, this sort of scenic detail begs to be modeled on a layout! Unfortunately, cannot FIND the original photo again on the Rail Pictures website. Had it stored in Pictures on my pc and just made it my desktop photo this a.m.[ change pics often; ALL are RR! ]. Do NOT know how to post a photo here. The photo in question is JPEG image [ don't know if this makes a difference for posting ]. Shows CSX SD40-2 heading right-to-left, just starting across underpass, emerging from heavy foliage. Oh, well. TTFN. .....Old Tom aka papaHOsmurf in NH
P.S. Upon further research on the RP website, was able to locate said photo! It is ID # 369298, was taken on 11-22-09 by photographer Whit Wardell in Omega, Ohio, along what appears to be a rural road in farm country. If ANYONE here can locate and post the photo, that would be Great!
