MP's Colours
Posted by Evergreen24 on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 11:29 PM

Does anyone know the correct colour of Missouri Pacific's Jenks Blue and their Red on the Logos? I've tried some research on my own, and most photos have different looks of the blue. Some look like Midnight Blue, Navy Blue or Dark Cerulean. When it comes to the reds, it can vary from Stop Sign Red, Action Red, Firetruck Red, or even a Ferrari Red!

I tried using the UP #1982's Blue, but all Heritage units' colours have been altered to fit the silver or grey.

Thanks! :)

Its a dark blue when new and faded fast.  The colors on the UP repaint are nowhere near any color the MP use.  The red on the logos was a primary red color.  Most of the cabooses were a similar red, but some were a more orange cast.

The dark blue on the blue-grey scheme was not the same as the Jenks blue and the jenks blue weathered/faded to a lighter color.  By the UP merger the tops of some units were almost a powder blue.
