Hi there
I'm hoping someone out there might be able to tell me what type of train order signals the NYC was using late 40's early 50's.
Upper or lower quadrant train order board ??
Appreciate your assistance
cheers
A 1956 NYC rule book has examples of both upper quadrant signals and color light signals.
Best guess, upper quadrant semaphores if its an older station, lights if its a newer one.
NYC TO signals displayed stop until a train approached and if there were no orders for the train the operator would clear the signal for that train and return it to stop immediately after the train passed.
