I'm looking for pictures and information of engines used by the PTRA of Houston other than the MK1500D.

It looks like the PTRA replaced all it's engined from 1994-1996 with MK1500D. I can not find any text or pictures of engines used before. I would be glad to find some information since 1970.

The PTRA engines looked exactly like a MKT engine.  Or exactly like a MP/UP engine.  Or exactly like a BN/ATSF/BNSF engine.

Prior to the MK1500D's the member roads supplied the PTRA with power, so based on the market share (not the right term) of the member roads they contributed engines to operate the PTRA.  So you wouldn't see PTRA engines, you would see engines from the member roads.

I see. The MK1500D is the very first engine that became painted in PTRA colors. All prior engines were used unchanged.

Thank you!
