Hi MSM.    I am not one for understanding anyone elses plans.  Ideas by one person can be totally alien to others.  Some modelers are very good  at wiring, others not so,  etc. etc..

What I will say is,   so long as a plan is not complicated to operate  and is easy for one person (within their capabilities) then it is okay by me.

Many a plan is spoilt by 'cramming in as much as possible'  when there are times it is nice to just watch trains run  through scenery.

Run trains round the plan,  in your head.  If everything feels okay and you are happy with it, then go ahead.

Looking forward to seeing you progress  with the build.

Track Plan - Revised Yet Again...
Posted by MSM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 8:27 AM
The last couple of plans that I posted here I claimed were my final. However, prior to beginning construction, I went ahead and mocked them up and didn’t care for the end results. Either too much track, not enough room for buildings and scenery, accessibility issues and didn’t like the overall look and feel.

With a lot of the comments from my previous posts I went back to the drawing board.  The attached plan is my latest version and after mocking it up, I like the balance, overall appearance and feel. I also think it would be more prototypical to operate, what do you folks think?

Yard operations our my main interest.  My design is a condensed version of B&O'S  Washington, Indiana Shops, 1915.

Thank, MSM…
