I've added the wide curve that will run underneath the Rosenheim station:

Thanks, Mike, for posting this video!

It brings back a lot of memories from childhood days, when we lived in Rheydt. My dad took me to the train station on Saturdays, where we could see the DB class 24, equipped with the smaller Witte smoke deflectors, pulling a string of "Umbauwagen" - just like in your video. By 1966, the last one of this nippy little engines was taken out of service and sent to the scrapper. 2 are preserved, but none of them in operating condition.

Happy times!

ere we go, the very first video of the Breitenbach to Rosenheim Railroad Version 3! I spent the day installing a temporary DCC bus so I can run a train from Bad Adomeit to the West staging yard and back.

The train is a typical commuter train of the sixties. I hope you'll enjoy watching this!

All the station track has been laid. What's left to do here is the engine service area.

I've added a few turnouts and a few pieces of track to the East end of the station:

...and obviously it had to be tested with a train:

I added the next station track so the new locomotive has a place to go:

I added this short track that will service the freight house:

I also added this track that will be used by commuter trains running back and forth between Bad Adomeit and the Eastern staging yard with a stopover at Rosenheim:

I started laying track at the Bad Adomeit station. Because of all the turnouts it takes a lot of time to get it all wired and laid out halfway straight.

Obviously I couldn't call it a day without first trying out how it would look with a train on the newly laid track:

I painted everything so it can all dry overnight. As far as I know we have no other plans for tomorrow which means I can lay track all day long Big Smile!

The second layer of roadbed is complete. Now it needs a coat of paint, then I can start laying track.

Next I'm adding the second layer of roadbed. This will take some time as every piece has to be laser cut, all the holes for switch machines have to be drilled. I have to work with as much precision as possible because this layer defines where the track will go.

Bigjim7
Nice room. Is most of this layout flat. It reminds me of the layouts at Train shows which I like that are flat and long. Are the German Loco's DC or they come also with decoders. Good work.

This layout will have a hilly landscape, no "Rocky Mountains". The layout runs on DCC, no sound.

Most of them are DCC, factory equipped, with decoders from ESU, Uhlenbrock or Lenz. It is quite difficult to find a DC only loco these days.

I started finishing the ramp. It's a pain to get at but I somehow managed to do it:
