I have a Diamond Scale TS-134 Turntable. All of the specs are at http://www.diamond-scale.com/Products/products__turntables.htm

I have built my benchwork from L-girder and topped it with 1/2" plywood. I am about to drop 2" extruded foam board on top. The pit wall of the turntable isn't tall enough! [V]

Will I create a problem if I set the turntable on top of the plywood and carve a cavity out of the underside of the foam so the turntable is sandwiched between them?

In order to be able to remove the turntable pit assembly I could cut a square hole in the plywood (the shape of the pit assembly) at a different alingment to the cavity in the foam... if that makes sense, I think I'll be able to raise the pit assembly into place and rotate it to 'lock it in' to the foam cavity...

Thoughts?
