Lighting for an SD45
Posted by tstage on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 1:28 PM

Can anyone tell me what size incandescent bulb should go into an HO SD45 for the headlight and mars/ditch lighting?  Would it be grain 'o wheat or larger?  Thanks.

Are you referring to the Headlights between the numberboards or located on the nose?  What prototype road?  Are you planning on using a separate bulb for each light in the housing?

Typically a GOR bulbs should fit, but remember that different mfg's bulbs are different sizes.  Checkout Miniatronics and GRS.  They give the diameter of the bulb.  When inserting the bulb in the housing use a little Microscale Krystal Klear to hold the bulb in place and to make a lens.

See my avatar for an example.
