I'm wiring up to internal switch for the frog. i was wondering

if you can wire to the buss line instead of using the stock rails?

It would make the job a lot simpler.

As long as you keep your polarity straight, this should not matter.

Absolutely.

Using the same circuit with twin-coil machines, I always wire directly to the bus terminals on the nearest terminal strip.  That way, if there's an electrical glitch it can be isolated much more easily.  Also, my terminal strips are all accessible from the aisleway, which saves me from having to crawl into the underworld to check circuitry.
