Paul: <br /> <br />The most common reason decoders get "fried" is a short between the black or red rail wires and the orange or gray motor leads. The command station will not see this and the only indication is that the motor won't run any more. If either motor lead comes in contact with either rail the decoder will instantly die. What burns out is the driver transistors for the motor so functions will usually still work. <br /> <br />My guess is that the truntable motor leads going to the decoder some how came in contact with a rail. Maybe you can use the decoder to control the light in a coach. <br /> <br />Ken
