DCC and turnouts
Posted by HV Branch on Monday, December 11, 2006 5:36 PM
I know you people have answered this before. I have Peco Insul-Frog turnouts on myDCC layout. I have to add a crossover and want to use some turnouts I have in stock. Either Shinohara #4s or Atlas Custom line "Mark 3". This is an HO layout and I think the Shinohara turnouts look better but how do I wire them. I do not want my engines to stall or short out through the frog.

To prevent shorting, the rails with the frog need gaps.   To prevent stalling the frog needs a power feed from the turnout controller that switches between the power from the two rails.
