I have not read this particular Application Note but from what Circuitron state in their instructions, is that the auxilary contacts within the Tortoise are only designed for a maximum of one (1) amp of current. If you need to switch heavier currents then you will have to connect a relay to these contacts. <br />For example, a miniature 5A DPDT relay similar to the Radio Shack 275-249 would provide ample current for most applications. Also providing additional switching circuits for any number of different functions. <br />I imagine that Application Note AN-6000-02 will provide the detailed wiring diagrams to show various methods of connecting signaling circuits and the frog via this additional relay.
