I dare say that if you plant your utility poles an actual 25 scale ft. apart, you're going to spend a whole weeks pay populating your layout with utility poles. I would consider just planting them at a distance that looks right. Out in the boonies(countryside to you urbanites) the distance is in the neighborhood of 150 prototype ft. In the city the distance will probably be closer to 75 ft. because each pole must support a larger amount of wires. As one travels farther from the city center the distance will increase to about 100 ft. as the amount of the wires decreases. But having spent all this time saying all this it all comes down to what looks good to you. This isn't a test and nobody is going to score you on it. So, good luck.
