Tortoise help.
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 23, 2006 12:42 AM
I've confused myself and I really need some help with the tortoise switch machines. first of all my turnouts have insulated powered frogs. I am powering the Tortoise via DC power and am running my locos via DCC. I have wired the frog to the number 4 terminal on the tortiose which is shown in the diagram at the bottom of

http://www.modeltreno.it/tort.html

now my question is. How can I power the frog by way of the tortoise? can this be done usin dc while the locos are dcc?

any help would be appreciated!

Run the proper track power to terminal 2 and terminal 3.

Depending on how the switch is thrown either terminal 2 or terminal 3 will send power to the frog, via terminal 4.

Why would powering the turnout with DC on terminals 1 and 8 have anything to do with terminal 4? You can see by the diagram there is absolutely no connection between those terminals.
