Work resumes, finally!

Yesterday I cleaned off the layout. Packed away the T-1's, my Kadee covered hopper, and my Atlas hoppers. Moved the locos off to the shelf, put away all my electronics, taped the hooked-up Switch-It up under the benchwork, removed any miscellaneous junk.
Today I started back on the yard. 2 of 4 tracks are now in place, maybe get another one done tonight. When it's all done I'll get some pictures and update my web site.

Good for you, Randy. Look at it as an investment in running time for trains, a step towards real ops, and a step closer to your overall dream layout. The work you have just done could add 30 more minutes to a lone session, and an hour to a shared one!

I know how you feel Randy. Yesterday was the first time in 3 weeks that I was able to do anything on mine. I was starting to wonder if I had lost interest. Work was just eating up my RR time big time. Went to SAMRA train show in San Antonio on Sat and Sun I got back to it. Valance is started.

I envy you, since I'm about to start the exact opposite process - dismantling.

We close on our new house Wednesday week but won't move in until March - installing new flooring, etc before we move in. So I'm about to start salvaging what I can from my old layout. Fortunately I never had time to ballast track, so I should be able to save quite a bit of it. All the turnouts of course, and buildings, etc.

I just about have the new design worked out, but I'm a long way from laying any new track. We're retiring to this house, so I'm putting in permanent lighting, valances, etc. beforehand. But at least I should have time towork on it.
