I would not get the Bachmann EZ track, even if it's for a kid. The turnouts are of low quality and usualy require filing of the points, or you'll have problems with derailments. Even more frustrating to a child the an adult, I reckon.. There's also only one size of turnouts with a tight radius available, which doesn't let you fit a lot of track on a layout. The track is ok, but what does that matter when the TO's aren't?
