Wiring double crossover loop
Posted by dougedw4 on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 2:10 PM
Imagine two main lines entering a Walthers Shinohara DCC friendly double (scissors)crossover. The top mainline loops and comes back in to the same crossover I am using Lenz equipment including auto reverser. I have gapped the two outside rails in the center of the crossover making the loop powerless.

I have tried MIT railroad club and they were no help.

Thanks to anyone who has the key.

Hi Doug, does this drawing describe your situation? The only time you have a reverse loop is when one of the two crosovers is thrown. If neither or both are thrown, polarity in the end section is normal. Hope this helps.

I have given this some thought since your email, as well as rereading the question. It sounds like you have your gaps layed out just like the diagram, so you are headed in the right direction. I think you hook it up as the directions indicate, but only use it when when you are actually reversing. This is the single crossover situation.
