the question you have to ask yourself is this... are you planning on placing it along a wall or free standing in the middle of your garage? If along a wall you will definately want 16 X 4 because you can reach back in the corners.... or you could even put it in a corner and do a L 12 X 4 X 4.... 12 foot length with a 4 foot dog leg on it.... and the width would be 4 feet as well. If you are able to use the center of the garage then you could use the 8 X 8 configureation because you could walk around it. Just remember that this is your personal layout and the final desicion is yours.
