Looking Site or book of N-Scale Shelf Layout Plans
Posted by SpaceMouse on Thursday, May 19, 2005 9:22 AM
I can't believe:

1) That a book called 101 Track Plans would have a plan that looked so go and simply did not work.

2) That I got it all the way to the point of posting it here before I realized the layout just wouldn't work.

I need new ideas and inspiration.

Micro Layouts: http://carendt.us/

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

I wouldn't say that the plan you posted wouldn't work--it just doesn't work for what you want to do. You also made some significant changes to the plan--which was designed for HO, not N--the book was published before N was commercially available. There are also 99 other plans in that book--surely they all weren't dogs? I mentioned a couple other shelf-type plans in another post that you might look to for inspiration.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish with this shelf layout? Start with your givens and druthers, and work your way to a plan from there...
