It's great to see another layout being built in an unfinished basement! I have used the unfinished basement as an excuse for not starting a layout for so many years. Finally this past November, while planning out a full layout and determining time and cost headaches for finishing the basement, decided to forge ahead with the layout and forget about finishing the basement. Instead of a room size 12' by 22' layout, I am building a shelf-style 16" by 16' plan that Linn Westcott had in his 101 Track Plans. I'll post the details and links to some pics in a separate post. Bottom line: Do with what one has! I'd rather be switching trains than putting up drywall!
