After the Denver Zephyr was re-equipped in 1956, it generally carried the following consist: <br />Baggage car (from the general-service pool, built prior to 1956) <br />2 or more 56-seat coaches (one for Colorado Springs) <br />Dome coach <br />Dome lounge-dormitory (The Chuck Wagon) <br />Diner <br />2 Slumbercoaches (one for Colorado Springs) <br />2 or more 10-6 sleepers (one for Colorado Springs) <br />6-5 sleeper <br />Dome parlor observation lounge <br /> <br />The consist varied with traffic demands. After 1959, the Slumbercoach might be either a Burlington car or a Northern Pacific car, as NP and CB&Q pooled these cars for operation on the Denver Zephyr and the North Coast Limited from that time on.
