BRJN, Thanks for the ideas, I've done some casual reading of roads like the Virginian and such, which reinforce your points. I'll have to go back and do some actual research with notes on history. BTW, any tips on current manufactures that can supply engines and cars for the time period? (I know I will be doing a lot of customizing!) Allen
