Need help modelling vines in HO
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 14, 2005 4:29 PM
Does anybody out there have any ideas for modelling vines in HO? I want to do some climbing vines on an old warehouse wall and also some trailing vines for a rock cut. I checked the forums index but didn't get very far.
Thanks a bunch.

Try Woodland Scenics foliage and streach it out very thin.

Try using white glue applied with a toothpick in a random pattern.
Then sprinkle on dark green fine ground foam. Let it dry overnight, blow off the
excess will leave the original glue pattern.
Quick and easy.

I have been thinking about experimenting with a different way to do vines other than the glue trail/ toothpick method. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to use hemp strands from twine glued on the brick/ stone. Then dab white glue where the folliage will be and blow a mix of grass T44/T45 W/S fine grass. The effect I'm looking for is a vine that will show branch/root stock in spots. I was hoping to try this before our show this weekend. Will let you know how it turns out.
