Decoders Manufacturers lists?

I was recently given what I think is a decoder, it has an 8 pin NRMA plug. The circuit board is numbered 392-X001R1.
Can anyone point me to where I can find out what this decoder is capable of & what loco it can be wired into.
Surely there must be a decoder list somewhere.

Are there any other identifying marks on the board itself? I tried doing a search on "392-X001R1+decoder" in Google and came up with nothing.

Tom,
The only other writing on the board is COMP SIDE 2000, I take that to mean
component side maybe manufactured in 2000.
The NMRA plug is identified as 440-X001.

Gonna be tough to figure out. If you have a way to plug it into something so you can read CV values, you can try reading the manufacturer's ID, CV 8. Each decoder manufacturer is assigned an ID by the NMRA, you can find a list of them on the NMRA site. Once you know the manufacturer, you can probably find more info at their site.

A Google search using only the nomenclature "392-X001R1" indicates that this is the constant lighting board out of a Proto 2000 engine, and is NOT a decoder.

392 is the manufacturer's number assigned to Proto 2000 products, and the X001R1 is their part number for the circuit board.
