30" deep around the room shelf is good, as long as you put the track to the back as you come into the curves, you can get the larger curves in (up to a 28" radius). <br /> <br />and 30" deep is wider than the recommended 24" deep, so you can still put lot's of terrain, siding, details in. <br /> <br />Jay
