I have a couple of American Flyer cars which need light sockets ( and bulbs) installed in them. The hole is already there and I have some of the small metal sockets with the flanges which fit into the holes in the cars. Where and how to I connect the wires to the sockets and the car bodies?
Bulldoggirl,
I see You have not had any replys yet. Maybe because, mostly HO and N-Scalers hang out here. You have a better chance, with someone helping you out, on the CTT Forums,(Classic Toy Trains).

Frank is right about suggesting that you post this question on the Classic Toy Trains forum.
But, as an old American Flyer guy, I can help you with your question.
The wiring needs to pick up power from the rails which moves up to the bulb via the metal wheels that are in contact with the rails. So, one wire needs to be grounded to the metal frame of the car and the other wire needs to be connect to the metal truck that holds the wheelset.
