Yards

View Full Size Image, N scale. Small (3 1/2 X 5) layout. Circular yard seemingly offers more space to store rolling stock.  Is this logical? Done by others?

Comments, recommendations welcome. Thanks.

Creative.  The prototypes have some gradual curves in some of their yards too.  We have done this on smaller layouts when we want to increase the track length but don't have the layout length.    Normally we use the curved section as the drill track for a more traditionally oriented yard.   A couple of problems of course with a curved yard.  1. Hard to couple/uncouple, 2. backing long lengths of long cars.   It will be interesting to see if the old discussion of "when is a siding a yard?" develop.
