Wolfgang Dudler's Scrap Metal
Posted by HappyWarrior on Sunday, January 6, 2013 5:11 AM

Hi all,

I have discovered a thread that many may have come across, begun by the late Wolfgang regarding his scrap metal yard. He explained he made his scrap heaps from coloured foil, put into a coffee grinder giving a fine mound of scrap. I will post the link below to the forum thread, however was wondering, is there a way other than using the coffee grinder or a kitchen appliance that would achieve similar results?

Hi,

I remember that article, and have to say it was pretty ingenious.   I don't know if a blender would do the job, but a coffee grinder works great.   A basic coffee grinder is pretty inexpensive and I seriously doubt you could cause it any harm by running tin foil in it.   Those appliances are super tough!

Also, cleaning the foil particles out of the blender is easy, for the only force that may hold anything in there is just static electricity.   Oh, the coffee grinders can also be used for their original purpose - and I am drinking a cup of "home ground" mud as I write this................

ENJOY  !

Look for a cheap grinder at second-hand thrift stores or Craigslist.

Yes, do not use the household one unless you are a household of one or wish to become one. Coffee grinders can be had for pretty cheap. Might also be able to dye foam and grind it up with one too. Buy cheap, because you aren;t looking for a superior grind of coffee bean with this one.
