Bringing in the New
Posted by nickyb on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 4:21 PM

Gentlemen

I don't know when, what, or how I made the decision to tare down and start over. It all started when My 6 axle and my N & W class A started derailing more and more. It was a around the room with an upper and lower 12 x 16 room size layout. I expanded it twice. the original was 4 x 12. As I have read before sometimes it easier to just bite the bullet. I wish I knew then what I know now. I am intrigued by a 12 x 16 multi shelf layout the I have seen before but, I'll make a couple of changes to suit my needs. One thing though, What is a good height between shelves also is it better to use a helix between levels or grades. I'll be building a website for my railroad so everyone can see the progress and give advice. My RailRoad name will be Catawa Valley R.R.

P.S.          The layout will have a full operating yard with 90' turntable and 8 stall round house . Layout is Coal,Lumber , and Sand & Gravel industries. Full scenery added.

Are you planning on scenery for all the levels?  is there a level just for staging? or a yard?
