My local Menards salvages damaged drywall in all thicknesses by cutting one good 4' x 4' piece that has tapered edges on three sides. They sell for $2.89 per piece which is about 2/3 the cost from a 4' x 8' sheet and a lot easier for one person to handle. Since the pricing is in their price book this is probaby a national policy. Thought maybe somebody could benefit from this informatiion.
price is nice but think of all the extra effort needed to tape, mud and sand....ughhh
I'd imagine that most suppliers will cut you some sort of a deal on "dinged" pieces. I look for damaged pieces of pink foam at Home Depot, and they discount them a few dollars for me.
