I was at Wal-Mart today and was looking at the clear elmer's glue and was wondering if it would work as good as the white glue? I was thinking that clear glue would be even better when doing ballast work and rock formations. Has anyone tried the clear glue yet?
I thought that the white stuff dried clear.

Hamltnblue I thought that the white stuff dried clear.
It does, and I'm not stingy with it, either.

Sounds like part of a George Carilin skit, clear white glue is like jumbo shrimp, we drive on a parkway but park in a driveway?
chilly peppers are hot, but when you feel a little cool you say its chilly out
Wayne is that code 100 or 83? Nicely laid out scene BTW.
Steam Demon I use white glue all the time, even Family Dollar brand, it dries clear. Can't even notice it.

Thanks for the kind words, Mister Mike, The track is Atlas code 83 flex.
Here's an overview of the same spot, taken before the crossing tender's shanty was added:
Wayne, I still use white glue, I was just wondering if the clear glue was any better.

The clear may be better in palces where the glue is on top. WHere it soaks in liek for ballast, I don't think there'd be any improvement. It migth be possible to do things like make a headlight lens with the clear, if it truly dries clear - the white dries clear but slightly cloudy. The clear may be similar to what the plastic model people call 'canopy cement' that dries completely crystal clear so there are no glue marks on the clear plastic cockpit canopy on aircraft models.
