Which benchwork would you suggest?
P.S.- I am 12
It depends on the size of your layout. If the layout is 4x8 you could start out with simple saw horses as benchwork. Nothing elaborate is needed to get started.

Is your plan an "L" shape 16' X 2' around the wall? i e Two pieces 2' X 8' put together in the corner of the room?
To make an intelligent suggestion we need to know what skill level you have? What kind of tools do you have access to? Drill with screw driver attachment and drill bits? Saw? I'm assuming no one wants this attached to the wall with shelf brackets which would be the easiest. Next would be a simple box ladder of 1' x 3's screwed together with drywall screws, and with 2'x2" legs, angle braced.Another good question is " How pretty do those in charge want this to be?"

That's one possibility - that would take the layout 8 feet out from the corner along one wall, and 10 feet (2 feet from the width of the other leg + 8 feet of length) out from the corner along the neighboring wall.
Another possibility is a layout that runs 8 feet along one wall, measured from the corner of the room, and 8 feet along the neighboring wall, measured from the corner of the room. I.e - a layout put together of one 8x2 section, and one 6x2 section butted up against the first piece.
Describing L-shaped layouts briefly is notoriously hard to do.

Another option would be to get two 24" wide hollow core slab (flat) doors and butt them together in the corner with regular table legs screwed to the bottom. It would take 6 legs and 2 doors. That way you could sit in a chair to run trains. A young man such as your self would have no problem crawling under to work on wiring. Low cost and easy to do.
