I posted this in the DCC forum in the beginning of july and haven't had a hit on it so I'm going to try in layouts and layout building someone must have used these. Anyway the question is:
I'm putting a layout together for a friend and he has alot of E-Z track and would like to continue with it. We were looking at the E-Z Command switches with the built in Dcc controller and switch motor and would like to know anyones experience with them. Or what you heard about them.
Determine how many switches you intend to use. Check the documentation that comes with one of them to see how many different DCC addresses they support. Check the EZ-Command DCC system documentation to see how many different DCC addresses it can program. If the system and the turnouts have an adequate number of DCC addresses, then you should be okay.
I have never used any Bachmann turnouts and cannot speak for their quality or reliability. Bachmann's web site doesn't even mention the DCC addressing scheme used by their turnouts.

I can say I have had nothing but problems with bachmann turnouts. I fiddle with those stupid things all the time to try to get them so wheels don't derail and nothing works. I have given up on using this track for anything other than an oval test bed for work that I do on engines. I have two crossovers that out of the box needed tweaking because everything derailed. I have filed, bent, twisted, and still no luck with them. Now one has a rail that is loose and comes off which can't help my situatuion any. Anyway when I get to buildin( if I ever) it will be with flex track and peco, shinohara or atlas switches.
alco's forever!!!!! Majoring in HO scale Minorig in O scale:)
