Track Question
Posted by smquitadamo on Saturday, January 1, 2011 7:01 AM

Is an (i.e. 0-72) curve section relatively the same in terms of the layout geometry ? (specifically the track section length, number of sections=circle, etc...) ?

Ordering one of each manufacturers curve pieces and/or turnouts to compare them is too expensive - So I am asking what I hope is a fairly simple question.

Note: I am NOT looking to interconnect various manufacturers... this question is a by-product of some layout software that does not include the track manufacturer I plan to use.

Welcome to the forums.

0-72 sounds to me like you are in O scale.  If so it makes a 72" circle.  You will get better advice on O scale questions if you go to the Classic Toy Trains forums, most of the folks here are in N and HO scale.  However, most of us started in O or American Flyer, more years ago than we'd rather admit.

Good luck,
