I know that this has been covered and advice is always to use scenic materials sparingly around turnouts. My question is what is the best way to apply the ballast and glue,so as not to get to much in there.I don't want to have to spend hours trying to free the turnouts.I have some track done, but hesitate on the turnouts.I use W/S ballast and W/S scenic cement.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,Bob

What I do is paint the roadbed a color close to the ballast I use under the throw rods and a little bit under turnouts. I have in the past dripped a couple small drops of plastic compatible oil on the throw bar and point pivots. Work the points a few times. Ballast carefully, Its easier to add more ballast than take it out. Mist real good and dribble glue/water mix like normal. Work the points a couple times and let dry.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Thanks Pete. The oil sounds like a good idea.I'll give it a try
