hey guys, its me again. just got a quick question........ im getting ready to start laying new flex track on my new layout, and im wondering..... is there an easy way to get track and road bed layed straight, and easy? what i really mean is, is there a way to accuratley mark my sub road bed to get my road bed right where i want it without haveing to worry about whether or not each piece is going to be right where its supposed to be? ive tried different ways of doing this, like laying out the trac and then slideing the cork road bed under it, but theres got to be a way to do this easier. any guidence is really appreciated. thanks!

Lay out the track, but instead of slipping the roadbed underneath, mark the center line on the sub-roadbed from between the ties. Remove the track. Connect all those dashes you made. That is your center line. Now lay the cork roadbed one side at a time using the center line as your guide and stagger the joints. For your turnouts, it is much simpler and cleaner to use the pre-formed cork pads.

one thing I found easy, is to solder 2or3 peices of flex track togather then lay them out for the radius you want , you will not get kinks at the joints in the middle of the curve.[:D]
