I am new to model railroading.

Probably the same as a lot of newbies that you seasoned railroaders have seen before - been bequeathed a half dozen boxes of HO scale equipment from my father-in-law.  Looked through it, and it has definitely piqued my interest!

I would love to set up a temporary, small, simple track to test all the equipment on.  Sort out what works, what doesn't, what looks like it can be fixed, etc.  Then expand to a larger track.

But, as my first line says - I'm a newbie.  So, let me mark the date as (almost) May, 2015, then check out how I fare a year from now!
