Owner and founder of the Class-I Illinois-based Central Chicago & Illinois Railroad. The CC&I is based in Evans, Illinois in 1870 by successful real estate millionaire, Mr. LMD (my RR persona), who gradually purchased many [ghost] towns across the country to avoid trackage sharing with competing railroads (including the hated much hated U.P.) such as the Norfolk Southern, Canadian Pacific, Canadian National, and CSX while allowing branch-line railroads to use the main-line in return the CC&I would be allow to use their servicing facilities. After purchasing a few short line railroads before resigning in 1939, Mr. LMD also design and created a railroad system (like the Ohio Central System) called the Blac Rail System operating the purchased railroads individually to save cost of buying new equipment and repainting.
The railroad main customers are industries along the mainline or within populated cities with rail access. The primarily customers are local quarries, mini-steel mill, brick, cement, scrap yard, general freight warehouses, lumber, charcoal, automotive plants, and restoration facilities.
