Ken started working on full size steam at the Rail City Museum at Sandy Pond, NY. He was one of the last to run Bath & Hammondsport 2-6-0 #11 there. He fired Escanaba & Lake Superior #14 on the Arcade & Attica from 1975-77 and has been a volunteer at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in North Freedom, WI since 1987. He was promoted to the right hand side in July 1996 and is one of the few steam and diesel qualified engineers at Mid-Continent. Ken also had the opportunity to run JiTong Railway QJ 2-10-2 #7007 on the point of a doubleheaded freight thru Reshui and up toward Jing Peng Pass in Inner Mongolia.
Ken is also an active model railroader and lover of the New York, Ontario & Western Railway. He has had stories published in both Trains and Railfan.
