Hi there! I used to be Firelock76 but when I retired and had to give up my company laptop I had to be "born again" on the Forum with a new "call sign" and e-mail but rest assured, it's me!
I just retired from thirty years of copier repair, before that worked for Navy Arms Company in Ridgefield NJ in the gun business, and before THAT was a lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. OO-RAH!
Hobbies now are toy trains, collecting 18th Century glassware (if the prices are reasonable), and now that I'm retired not driving the wife, Lady Firestorm, mad.
The glassware's fun. I don't KNOW if General Washington ever handled any of it, but he COULD have!
I've still got the artillery but the passion for it isn't really there anymore, it just sits in the closet appreciating in value.
The toy trains are even more fun. It's relaxing watching 'em go 'round and 'round, but then I'm easily amused anyway.
I'm from Paramus, New Jersey originally, now living in Henrico VA
PS: In case anyone's wondering about the avatar, first off it's not me, BUT it's someone wearing a Continental Marine uniform, green with white facings, and holding a flintlock musket. Part of the lock, the frizzen (where the flint strikes the steel to cause sparks) is covered with a leather sleeve, properly called a "stall," a safety device that prevents accidental discharges.
